Remote Reboot Keeps Travelers Connected
iBoot Saves UnwiredOnline Thousands of Dollars in Service Calls and Maintenance by Remotely Operating its Equipment
Busy travelers need to stay connected, so Netpune Networks leading provider of internet access kiosks at airports turned to Dataprobe to help keep uptime to a maximum.

These internet kiosks are available at each airport gate, and all the gates on a jetway are served by cable modem connections. Inband and out-of-band reboot access at each jetway's head end is provided by Dataprobe's iP-415, which allows reboot for the access equipment and billing server.

Individual kiosks are rebooted as needed and automatically on a nightly basis with Dataprobe's iBoot. The iBoot is a single outlet power switch that can be controlled via web browser, or as in this case, by a message from the network monitoring software at the Network Operations Center (NOC).

An additional iBoot using the Auto-Ping feature continuously monitors the internet connection and automatically reboots the cable modem when is is not communicating with the server at the NOC.
