Dataprobe’s Expands Remote Reboot Products for DC Power Systems
IP controlled remote power solution for solar, wind, irrigation, security applications.
ALLENDALE, NJ; August 31, 2009--- Dataprobe, a leading manufacturer of innovative technology solutions for networking systems management, has released its latest of its iBoot family of remote power controllers, model iBB-DC8. The iBB-DC8 allows eight outlets of DC power to be switched On, Off or power cycled for timed reboot. With the iBB-DC8, users can protect and maintain devices in areas that cannot easily be accessed and streamline power control of DC powered system including solar, wind, irrigation, traffic and security. The iBB-DC8 extends Dataprobe’s successful iBoot and iBootBar family of products for remote power management.

A cost-effective and easy-to-use technology, the iBB-DC8 allows remote equipment to be rebooted or power controlled over an IP network using an Internet browser. The new iBoot model allows Web browser control of eight D/C power outlets and each outlet can be independently turned on, off or cycled for power-on reset (reboot). A serial port or optional internal modem is also provided for out-of-band access when the network is unavailable. The modem supports both data and voice calls, allowing secure remote power control from any telephone. The iBB-DC8 also supports Telnet, SNMP, SMTP and SSL security.

The iBB-DC8 can be configured to monitor networked equipment and will automatically reboot the equipment in the case of a system freeze. Dataprobe’s innovative AutoPing feature continuously monitors multiple IP addresses and takes programmed action when it detects non-responsive systems.

“The iBB-DC8 extends the value of the iBoot family to a growing number of DC powered systems. As more remote sites depend on DC power, cost effective power control becomes of greater importance.” said David Weiss, president of Dataprobe. “It is an ideal solution for managers of DC powered systems looking to gain control and maximize uptime of their geographically dispersed systems in the most expedient and efficient manner.”

The iBB-DC8 is available via Dataprobe’s Web site and through its reseller channels.
